Men's water polo takes third with big victory over El Camino
Mt. SAC captured third place at the South Coast Conference championships with a 17-3 win over El Camino at Chaffey. Garett Schoeman led the Mounties with five goals. Brendan Cheng and Nick Guerrero added three goals each for the Mounties. Mt. SAC (16-13, 5-2) will now await the announcement of the Southern California regional pairings.

Men's water polo loses in overtime at conference championships
Cerritos defeated Mt. SAC, 12-11, in overtime in the semifinal round of the South Coast Conference championships at Chaffey. The Mounties (15-13, 4-2) will face El Camino for third place on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 11:45 a.m. at Chaffey. Mt. SAC is still in the hunt for a berth in the Southern California Regional playoffs.

Men's water polo drops two to close out regular season
Mt. SAC dropped a pair of non-conference games at Pomona Pitzer to close out is regular season schedule. In the first game, Pomona Pitzer outscored Mt. SAC, 9-8. In the second game, Whittier College defeated the Mounties, 8-4. Mt. SAC (15-12, 4-1) will compete in the South Coast Conference championships at Chaffey on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 6-7.

Men's water polo gets big win over Chaffey
Mt. SAC defeated Chaffey, 19-4, in a South Coast Conference game at Mt. SAC. Matt Morales led the Mounties with four goals while teammates Garrett Schoeman and Matthew Valdes added three each. Nate Hirsch and Jordan Rosell scored two goals each for the Mounties. Mt. SAC (15-10, 4-1) will play a non-conference double header on Saturday, Oct. 31 against Pomona Pitzer and Whittier at Pomona Pitzer to close out its regular season schedule.

Men's water polo demolishes L.A. Trade Tech, 34-2
Mt. SAC defeated L.A. Trade Tech, 34-2, in a South Coast Conference game at L.A. Trade Tech. Alexander Chung and Paul Gordon led the Mounties with four goals each. Nick Guerrero and Bryan Shiang each scored three goals while Keaton Downs, Steven Garcia, Christopher Hernandez, Chris Jarvis, Corey Jones, Jazz Ponce and Garett Schoeman each added two. Goalkeeper Kevin Huang led the Mounties with four saves. Mt. SAC (14-10, 3-1) will host Chaffey on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 4:15 p.m.

Men's water polo wins two
Mt. SAC defeated Occidental, 17-10, and an Alumni team, 12-11, in a pair of games at Mt. SAC. Against Occidental, Nick Guerrero led the Mounties with six goals while teammate Wesley Yao added three. Against the Alumni, Matt Morales led the Mounties with three goals while Steven Garcia, Guerrero and Garrett Schoeman added two each. Mt. SAC (13-10, 2-1) will play at L.A. Trade Tech on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 4:15 p.m.

Men's water polo loses in seven overtime periods; bounces back with win
Mt. SAC split its games on the closing day of the American River Tournament. In the first game, the Mounties lost to Diablo Valley, 9-8, in seven overtime periods. In the second game, the Mounties defeated Santa Rosa, 10-4. Mt. SAC (11-10) will play Occidental College on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 5:30 p.m. The annual Alumni game will follow at 7 p.m.

Men's water polo picks up pair of wins
Mt. SAC picked up a couple of wins on the opening day of the American River Tournament in Sacramento. In the first game, the Mounties knocked off American River, 17-8, and in the second, Mt. SAC defeated Sierra, 18-2. The Mounties (10-9) will continue tournament play on Saturday, Oct. 10.

Men's water polo takes control against Cerritos
Matt Morales scored five goals to help lead Mt. SAC to a 14-6 win over Cerritos in a South Coast Conference game at Mt. SAC. Nick Guerrero added three goals for the Mounties while Christopher Hernandez added two. Goalkeeper Adam Meyer had 14 saves for Mt. SAC. The Mounties (8-9, 2-1) will play in the American River Tournament on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 9-10.

Men's water polo hosts non-conference double header; gets split
Mt. SAC hosted a non-conference double header, defeating L.A. Valley, 12-6, and losing to Ventura, 11-9, at Mt. SAC. Against L.A. Valley, Nick Guerrero scored six goals while teammate Garret Schoeman added four for the Mounties. Goalkeeper Adam Meyer had 14 saves for Mt. SAC. Against Ventura, Matt Morales led the Mounties with three goals while Brendan Cheng and Nick Guerrero added two each. Meyer had 12 saves. Mt. SAC (7-9, 1-1) will resume South Coast Conference play by hosting Cerritos on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 4:15 p.m.

Men's water polo wins high-scoring conference match
Nick Guerrero and Matt Morales scored three goals each to lead Mt. SAC to a 17-11 South Coast Conference win over El Camino at El Camino. Wesley Yao, Christopher Hernandez and Nate Hirsch added two goals each for the Mounties. Goalkeeper Adam Meyer led Mt. SAC's goalies with five saves. The Mounties (6-8, 1-1) will host a non-conference double header against L.A. Valley and Ventura on Friday, Oct. 2.

Men's water polo closes out tournament with split
Mt. SAC split on Day 2 of the Cal Baptist Tournament. In the first game of the day, Concordia University, the No. 12 Division I team in the nation, defeated the Mounties, 10-5. In the final game of the tournament, Mt. SAC defeated Claremont McKenna, 8-7. The Mounties (5-8, 0-1) will resume South Coast Conference play at El Camino on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 4:15 p.m.

Men's water polo loses twice
Mt. SAC lost twice on the opening day of the Cal Baptist Tournament. In the opening game, the host team from Cal Baptist handed the Mounties a 12-4 defeat. In the nightcap, the Mounties were defeated by Riverside, 11-8. The Mounties (4-7) will resume tournament play on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Men's water polo takes second place in Mt. SAC Tournament
Mt. SAC captured second place at the 36th annual Mt. SAC Invitational Tournament held at Mt. SAC by winning three of its four games. Today, in their third game of the tournament, the Mounties upset Orange Coast, 11-5. Christopher Hernandez, Nate Hirsch, Garett Schoeman and Matthew Valdes each scored two goals for Mt. SAC. Goalie Adam Meyer has 18 saves for the Mounties. In their fourth and final game of the tournament, the Mounties lost to Fullerton, 10-8. Nick Guerrero scored three goals for Mt. SAC while Schoeman added two. Meyer had six saves in goal. Mt. SAC (4-5, 0-1) will compete in the Cal Baptist Tournament on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25-26. Game-by-game scoring can be seen here.

Men's water polo wins two
Mt. SAC picked up a pair of wins on the opening day of the Mt. SAC Tournament at Mt. SAC. In the first game, Brendan Cheng, Garett Schoeman and Nate Hirsch each scored two goals to lead the Mounties to an 11-2 win over UC Davis. Goalie Adam Meyer had 12 saves. In the second game, Mt. SAC defeated Palomar, 15-6, behind Steven Moreno's four goals. Schoeman, Hirsch and Cheng each added two goals for the Mounties. Meyer had 15 saves in goal for Mt. SAC. The Mounties (3-4) will continue tournament play on Saturday, Sept. 19.

Men's water polo comes up short in SCC opener
Long Beach defeated Mt. SAC, 12-8, in both teams' South Coast Conference opener at Long Beach. Christopher Hernandez led the Mounties with three goals while teammate Brendan Cheng added two. Goalie Adam Meyer had nine saves for Mt. SAC. The Mounties (1-4, 0-1) will compete in the Mt. SAC Tournament on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 18-19.

Men's water polo picks up first win of the season
Mt. SAC picked up its first win of the season on Day 2 of the Golden West Tournament. In the first game of the day, Mt. SAC lost to Cerritos, 10-9. Nicholas Guerrero scored three goals for the Mounties while teammates Matthew Valdes (2), Brendan Cheng (2) and Nathan Hirsch rounded out the Mountie scoring. Goalie Adam Meyer had five saves. In the second game of the day, Mt. SAC defeated Citrus, 12-5. Morales led the Mounties with four goals. Garret Schoeman (2), Valdes (2), Cheng (2), Guerrero and Joshua Huang accounted for the other Mt. SAC goals. Meyer had five saves in goal for the Mounties. Mt. SAC (1-3) will open its South Coast Conference schedule at Long Beach on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 4:15 p.m.

Men's water polo defeated twice to open season
Mt. SAC opened its 2009 season with two games at the Golden West Tournament. In the first game, Orange Coast defeated the Mounties, 9-5. Garret Schoeman, Matthew Valdes, Nicholas Guerrero, Joshua Huang and Jeffrey Molina scored goals for the Mounties. Adam Meyer had 10 saves in goal for Mt. SAC. In the second game, Riverside defeated Mt. SAC, 12-11. Valdes scored three goals, Schoeman two, and Guerrero, Matthew Morales, Brendan Cheng, Nathan Hirsch, Jordan Rosell and Christopher Hernandez each added one. Mt. SAC (0-2) will continue play in the Golden West Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 12. At 9:10 a.m., the Mounties will face South Coast Conference rival Cerritos and then Citrus at 3:40 p.m.
